| 4Ps (Seller's View) | 4Cs (Customer's View) |
|---|---|
| Product | Customer Solution |
| Price | Cost to the Customer |
| Place | Convenience |
| Promotion | Communication |
Check for Internal Consistency: When analyzing a marketing strategy, always check if the 4Ps support each other. For example, a high-quality 'Product' (Premium) should usually have a high 'Price' and be sold in exclusive 'Places'.
Identify the 'P' Correcty: Be careful not to confuse 'Place' with 'Promotion'. If a question mentions a website, determine if it is being used to sell/distribute (Place) or to advertise (Promotion).
Service Context: If the scenario involves a bank, hospital, or airline, remember to apply the extended 7Ps. Mentioning 'People' or 'Process' in service-related answers often gains extra marks.
The 'Only Revenue' Rule: Remember that Price is the only element that generates revenue. If a strategy focuses on increasing market share at the expense of profit, analyze the 'Price' element specifically.
